Flavoured coffee and cigarettes, enjoyed solitarily
in an overpriced coffee shop in a mall.
Laptops, tablets and androids on tables.
A pair of women in denim short-shorts paraded by.
Surreptitious glances thrown on the guys over at the next table.
A pregnant lady in short dress toted shopping bags.
Two children trailed behind with the nanny.
A towering foreign male strutted past.
A Filipina, half his height, wrapped on his arm.
A pair of giggly teenagers in uniform, from the nearby public school,
sipped on ventis worth more than their parents’ daily wage.
A trio of street urchins sidled between tables.
Begging and hoping for the last sip, the last nibble.
Two blissful hours spent doing absolutely nothing.
